National Re-Entry Week & The Cash Mob Business Tour

April 23rd – 27th is Cuyahoga County Office of Re-entry’s inaugural Re-entry Week Celebration. There will be an event on each day of that week in support of those with criminal backgrounds.

On Tuesday, April 24th, the Office & other great community partners will be hosting a Cash Mob: A bus full of people ready to spend that will be brought around to businesses owned by returnees and/or business that support the work of returnees. During re-entry week each business on our tour will be asked to offer a discounted item to individuals who are supporting re-entry week. This could be a discounted menu, clothing, service or beauty product.

With approximately 3500 individuals returning home to our community each year we have decided to set our sights on raising $3500 on this day. Our intention is to have that amount spent collectively by our guests to businesses that support and participate in re-entry. We will be visiting businesses that support re-entry through Beauty, Food, Clothing, and Services. We will stop at each business where guests will have the opportunity to make purchases at each establishment, as well as a few moments to enjoy a small token of appreciation from each location. This token of appreciation can come in many forms including but not limited to samples, handouts of upcoming events, brief demos, or a small trinket.

The trip begins at Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry (LMM), located at 4515 Superior Ave, Cleveland, OH, at 1:45pm where guests can park their vehicles and board the bus. Space is limited. This token of appreciation can come in many forms including but not limited to samples, handouts of upcoming events, brief demos, or a small trinket. The tour will end at 6pm at LMM where our guests can depart with their purchases and swag in hand.
