Effective January 1, 2016, Dione Alexander takes over as President of Village Capital Corporation (VCC). Dione has been working for VCC as its Sr. Vice President since October 2014. Village Capital is the lending subsidiary of Cleveland Neighborhood Progress and serves as a leading local community development financial institution (CDFI) in the Midwest and provides crucial funding to catalytic developments in Northeast Ohio. Recent projects that VCC has provided loans for include Uptown in University Circle, the Tower Press Lofts, St. Luke’s Pointe, and Waverly Townhomes in Detroit Shoreway. The lending entity is actively pursuing a number of projects to lend on.
Ms. Alexander takes over for Linda Warren, who will remain as President of New Village Corp. and as Sr. Vice President of Placemaking at Cleveland Neighborhood Progress. Ms. Warren will now serve on the Board of Directors of VCC.
Prior to joining VCC, Ms. Alexander served as a Principal of RoundBox Consulting, an impact solutions consulting firm dedicated to the philanthropy, nonprofit, and community/social finance sectors. She previously served as the V.P. of the Midwest Region and V.P. of National Capital Asset Development for Nonprofit Finance Fund (“NFF”), a national CDFI. Ms. Alexander currently serves on the board of the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
